The pistol textures that you see, hear and use are not created by me,
but rather ported from other Aleph One scenarios so that the Simplici7y
community could enjoy a fresh and new texture addition. I must note
that the textures were not directly from other scenarios, as first they
were under heavy modifications to improve the experience of animating
them. The main scenario from which the texture bitmaps are from is
called, "Marathon: Rubicon X". The scenario that provided audio is
of, "Marathon: Pheonix", however, since neither had provided copyrigh
patents, content from these scenarios was used freely in every manner.
The software of what I used to modify the textures was MS Paint, but
I used Shape Fusion 0.6 to organize and arrange the textures to match
the animations. You may have also noticed some other slight
modifications, such as that the Bobs are all red, and that the magnum
does more damage. The red equality of the Bobs is to protect the
determination of assimilated Bobs, and the damage is to influence
equal weapon usage. To begin, simply drag your Rubicon Magnum folder
into Marathon 2 and/or Marathon Infinity. Load up your game, and go
to the Preferences tab. From here, select Environment, and there
should be four buttons labeled Shapes, Maps, Sounds and Physics.
Change the Shapes, Sounds and Physics and save your changes too.
After your return to the main menu, you're pretty much good to go.
